Most of these “Vegan AIP” success stories below came from the “Vegan AIP (Autoimmune Paleo or Protocol)” FB page.
I was very grateful to have found that community when I first discovered “Vegan AIP” and wanted to give it a shot! It is an excellent source of community, support, health tips, and recipes.
And, it is really the only other Vegan AIP source out there for us “Vegan AIP’ers” — even though there are so many of us!
They inspired me to start this website to provide even more support!
Below is a bevy of Inspiration and Unique Success Stories to give you Encouragement along this journey!!
“Vegan AIP has totally helped my HS, hands down. I hope it helps you, too!!
It’s super empowering to find the things that make your body flare & finally feel like you have some say over what’s going on! Wishing you all the best on your healing journey.”
“With Vegan AIP I notice I have more energy, feel lightweight, less joint pain, less heartburn, lower cholesterol and I have been able to lower my high blood pressure. No more chest pain so overall, I’m feeling better. I’m also taking vitamin D3, B complex, astanxathin, MSM, NAC (for kidneys), and turmeric.”
“I still take thyroid meds but I no longer suffer arthritis symptoms. I can walk without pain.”
“I am in remission with graves disease, after 3 weeks of “Vegan AIP” (totally), most of my blood tests were ok (no meds). Keep going, it’s worth it. You just need a commitment to eat only what makes you feel good now.”
“It totally changed my life. From living on the couch, brain fog, abnormal blood results, gut and joint pain to feeling better than I have in my life. I also watched carbs.”
“I have HS. 40 years! I’ve been on “Vegan AIP” since March, 2018. The condition is extremely well-managed now — pain and lesion free. So wonderful!”
“I have Graves/ hyperthyroidism diagnosed last April after going into thyroid storm. I started on methimazole and supplements.
I then started “Vegan AIP” and within a couple months I went into optimal thyroid range and my Graves antibodies are in normal range! I’ve been vegan for 16 years but have no doubt cleaning up my diet has helped”
“Nightshades were my problem. But once I healed my gut with Vegan AIP I could tolerate everything. I started the “re introduction” phase after 60 days.”
“So for a while, you will still have flareups until the toxins have left your body, mine took almost a month. THEN only after 30 days of not having any issues did I start introducing foods.”
“It took me forever to make up my mind to do this. BUT I can tell you that I am now living pain-free. I can walk, run and jump with my kids. Before I was the sick mom, the boring mom, pretty much invisible.”
“My first month was so hard (I’m now going on month 3) I was ready to throw in the towel after 3 weeks but I pushed through. I ate more good fats/oils and way more veggies. I didn’t realize there would be a detox period for so long. I feel sooo much better now, I hope it continues to progress for the better. This was one of the most challenging things I’ve done for myself. Hang in there you won’t regret it!”
“I have graves too diagnosed 5 years ago. Been doing “Vegan AIP” for 6 months and reduced my meds from 20mg daily to 5mg every other day.”
“There is a detox period- I’ve found that adding in healthy fats are helpful! I eat a lot of coconut milk, avocados, olives, coconut oil, avocado oil, evoo (extra virgin olive oil).
Stick with it, you got this! My inflammation has decreased so substantially.”
“You don’t have to use oils and sugar substitutes. Make sure you eat enough healthy fats like avocado, olives and coconut (whole coconut, coconut milk).
I’m in remission with my disease with this diet and so is my daughter.”
“I’m not even 2 weeks in and I’m already like 85% better.”
“I have graves— diagnosed 5 years ago. I’ve been doing AIP for 6 months and reduced my meds from 20mg daily to 5mg every other day.”
“My general inflammation went down so much. My psoriatic arthritis had been lax for the most part unless it’s raining or cold. My psoriasis has been clear. I am on Taltz which mostly helps with both psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis but the diet helped with the rest unless the weather decides otherwise.
I haven’t been diagnosed with GI issues but they were bad but cleared the first week. My tummy has never felt better. Good luck if you try it!”
“I am now in remission! I started my first elimination phase in June last year because I have a milder cause of psoriasis in my scalp. I did it all summer but when autumn started and school began I was too eager to reintroduce foods. So after a while, I realized I had to do it all over.
I started my second and stricter elimination diet in October and did three months until New Year’s Eve. After that, I (more slowly than last time) began to reintroduce foods again.
In March it was clear that the rashes had come back so I have just been doing a third AIP elimination for the last month. Almost all of my rashes are now gone and I feel amazing! I’ve just started reintroducing foods for the third time and this time I will do it right and go slow and steady! My supplements are only collagen and probiotics and I try to eat a lot of sauerkraut”
“I’ve been on “Vegan AIP” for over a year after suffering from HS for 12 years and my flares have nearly altogether vanished. Every once in a while I get a difficult flare but I can usually track it back to stress and/or too much natural sugars (like maple syrup or fruits). I’ve been reintroducing foods VERY slowly which is part of why I think I’ve been pretty successful too. Also losing 80 lbs helped. I wish you all the luck and endurance!”
“I have LP and just started “Vegan AIP” 3 weeks ago. I feel improvement and have lost 5 lbs.”
