I’m So Sorry if you are in pain, struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or at the end of your rope. Many of Us – have been there!
And, Many of Us – have had a lot of Healing Success with the Vegan AIP protocol and have found that – IT IS a Great Place to Start!
I Truly Wish that this website can give you some resources, inspiration, hope, and the support you need to succeed wherever you are on your health journey.
Wishing you all the best, much healing, and many blessings on your human journey, my friend!
- The Vegan AIP protocol is very flexible and experimental! Everyone is different! Get comfortable with experimenting – and find what works for you!
- I have modified all recipes on this website as “Elimination Phase” compliant – via my “TIPS” on each recipe.
- There are 3 phases to the AIP (Auto-Immune Protocol) / Vegan AIP diet: the “Elimination Phase,” the “Reintroduction Phase,” and the “Maintenance Phase.”
- The first phase is the “Elimination Phase.” AIP guidelines recommend committing to this stage from 30 – 90 days minimum – before starting the “Reintroduction Phase.”
- If you are seeing some “Success” – start the “Reintroduction Phase.” See “Reintroduction Phase” on the menu bar for more info.
- Not all of the recipes posted are AIP and, in some cases, not Vegan. See my “TIPS” (on each recipe) for how to make the recipe AIP & Vegan! And, please bear with me until I can create my Vegan versions!
- If you are Vegan and AIP – it is recommended to eat between 12 – 16 c. of veggies a day – to get in all of your protein, amino acids and nutrients!
- Make sure you heavily rotate your veggies to diversify your diet as much as possible. Also, lean heavily on nutrient-dense greens and cruciferous veggies.
- Consistently eating a diverse array of veggies helps prevent developing new sensitivities to other AIP-compliant foods.
- We are not meant to stay in the “Elimination” stage longer than is needed. Re-introducing other foods can also help prevent other sensitivities from developing – by widening our veggie repertoire.
- OTHER SENSITIVITIES: After some time on the Vegan AIP protocol – some realize they have become sensitive to an “AIP Compliant” food. Be aware of any symptoms or triggers you experience when eating different AIP foods.
- Before eliminating the food from your diet – try eating smaller amounts and less often before you eliminate a food.
- Below are the – Most Common AIP Food Sensitivities:
- Cassava / Yucca, Tapioca, Arrowroot
- These are all related. Arrowroot tends to be the least reactive. So, first – try substituting it in recipes.
- Then – Try Substituting with other AIP flours:
- Green Banana Flour, Tigernut Flour, Sweet Potato Flour, Coconut Flour, Plantain Flour.
- Coconut Products
- Milk – Depending on the recipe, you may omit it altogether, or try substituting it with water and banana, applesauce for dessert recipes, or “Pacific” mushroom broth for savory dishes.
- Oil – substitute with either avocado or olive oil.
- Flour – Try substituting another AIP flour.
- Nutritional Yeast
Use onion, garlic, and mushroom powder, and other herbs and seasonings – as substitutes.
- Agar Agar
Try using other AIP flours (arrowroot powder, etc.), banana, apple sauce, pumpkin puree, or other starchy cooked, mashed vegetables (plantains, yucca, rutabaga, turnips, carrots, etc.) – for thickeners, depending on the recipe.
- Cassava / Yucca, Tapioca, Arrowroot
- Over time, some people on the Vegan AIP diet – feel that using no or low oil – will help their healing process. If you want – try these modifications:
- Reducing the oil called for in a recipe
- Baking / Roasting
- Steaming
- Sauteing in broth (not oil)
- Drinking more green smoothies
- Eating more raw foods (without oils)
- Substituting (especially in Baking) with:
- Avocados (mashed)
- Applesauce
- Banana (mashed)
- Root or other Veggies, cooked and pureed (i.e., cauliflower, rutabaga, pumpkin, sweet potato, zucchini, beets, etc.)
- Every person’s case and journey is individual in dealing with their Auto Immune issues and, thus, their healing journey. Some cases / conditions can be very complicated.
- However, many people have healed diseases with “Veganism” alone. Do the research. You will find many cases.
- However – Some of us have to go further. Though, many of us have healed from many symptoms and have gone into “remission” from Vegan AIP.
- Consider seeing a “Functional” medicine doctor, Naturopath, Nutritionist that takes a holistic approach, or someone you really trust – if you aren’t getting the answers you need from your regular doctor.
- Lean on those of us and Learn from those who have been Successful with Vegan AIP!
- Start simple and go slow.
- Don’t tackle too many recipes at once. Find some favorites. Master a few and then gradually integrate others as you become more confident shopping, prepping, cooking.
- Feed your Soul, your Spirit! Live from your Heart. Have Gratitude for everything “You Do Have.”
- Have a Spiritual Practice – whatever that means to you. Honor the planet. Honor elders and ancestors. Honor animals. Honor people. Practice rituals. Celebrate seasonal cycles. Meditate. Practice releasing trauma and heavy emotions.
- Seek balance and flexibility, not perfection. Seek self-love and acceptance. Spread love and peace. Seek to stay centered. grounded. aligned. Be in the moment. Don’t cling to the past. Leap into the unknown. Find your mastery. Know your power. Integrate and embrace your ever-expanding world. Let go of control, fear, and despair. Trust larger energies, the journey and where you are headed. Flow.
- Spend time Outside – Every Day. Go for walks / hikes. Connect to nature – with animals, plants, people, the land, the air, fire, the water.
- Listen to music, hang with people you love and who love you, move your body, relax, take naps.
- Do things you love and find new things to love.
- Laugh.
- Trust your Intuition! Don’t Give Up. Have Hope. Find Love and Support. Find Peace. Keep Moving Forward!
A Hopi Elder Speaks ~
…”There is a river flowing now very fast.
…”Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.
…”The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”
